The Story Behind the Art
This flower is a lot like the bouquet my husband and I received after our first miscarriage. It was a lovely arrangement of yellow and red blooms, which we later placed on my grandparents’ farm—a place that had always been special to me growing up—as a way to honor our precious Jamie.
At the time, we were living with family in Texas and happened to miscarry during a rare ice and snowstorm. Everything shut down. After five long days without power, my older brother managed to get us out and I headed to the hospital as things had not gone well.
Texas was not prepared for snow.
And in the same way, I was not prepared for the loss of a child. One of our goals at New Mercy Mom’s is to remind you that you are not alone in this. We see you in your grief, and we’re here to walk alongside you with love, prayer, and a community that cares for your heart. Our hope is not for quick fixes, but for anchored, Jesus-centered healing that carries you through every season.
May this custom print bless you and your family, as you honor the beauty and precious memory of the child you’ve lost.
