There is a reason grief retreats for mothers matter.
When a child dies, the world keeps moving, but your heart does not. You deserve space to breathe, weep, and be gently reminded that Jesus meets you here.

New Mercy Moms: the gathering is a Christian grief retreat created for bereaved mothers to experience rest, the life-giving truth of the Bible, and genuine connection with other loss moms. We will look to Jesus together for hope in the darkest valley, with space for tears, quiet, and prayer. More details to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • NMM: the gathering is a 4-day Christian grief retreat for bereaved mothers.

It’s designed to offer rest, Bible-centered encouragement, prayer support, and meaningful connection with other loss moms.

This retreat is for mothers who have experienced the loss of a child at any age or stage, including pregnancy loss, abortion, miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, older child loss, and adult child loss.

  • We love children and believe they are a gift from God. At the same time, because this retreat is for bereaved moms, we are not able to accommodate babies or children on-site, including nursing babies. For many mothers, the presence and sounds of little ones can be deeply triggering in this setting.

If this creates a barrier for you, please reach out. We would love to talk through options and help you think about what support might make it possible to attend in the future.

  • Where: Eden, Utah. A beautiful, restorative location that is just a one hour drive from the SLC airport.

When: Wednesday, September 30, to Saturday, October 3, 2026.

  • You can expect quiet space to rest, gentle Bible teaching and guided study, meaningful connection with other loss moms, optional prayer support, and unhurried time to breathe and grieve.

We’re keeping this retreat very small, with only 7 attendee spots, so each mom is cared for personally and has space for quality connection and support.

  • No, absolutely not. All bereaved mothers are welcome, and we would love to have you join us. Just know that since this retreat is about Jesus meeting us in our grief and pain, we will be sharing about Jesus from the Bible, reading Scripture, and praying.

  • The venue is about 1 hour from the SLC airport.

    • Check in is between 3-5 pm. So please plan to arrive in SLC no later than 3:30 PM on Wednesday.

    • Check out is between 10-11 AM, so for your return, choose a Saturday afternoon flight if you can.

If you need an exception, please email us and we’ll do our best to help.
